Learn your way around Ludo

Ludo gives you a focused activity to play in your browser. Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Play with two or four people on the same device. Follow the house rules shown on the board; internet matchmaking is not available.

Give this approach a try

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Make the next step deliberately.

What counts as success

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. The example below illustrates a decision.

The steps to play

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

Your inputs

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

Try this example

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Keep the controls nearby.

Check this before moving on

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Compare the situation with the worked example. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
