Reaction Challenge: how a round works

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Reaction Challenge. Finish five valid responses. An early click does not count as a completed response; start that attempt again. Look at what changes after your first action. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Build familiarity through play

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Notice the feedback after each input.

What counts as success

Finish five valid responses. An early click does not count as a completed response; start that attempt again. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Notice how the game responds to your input.

From the start of a round

  1. Start a round and wait without clicking.
  2. When GO appears, click or tap the large target.
  3. Read your response time and start the next round.
  4. After five rounds, the game shows the mean time.

Getting comfortable with the controls

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Check any mode label before starting.

Try this example

A valid 250 ms response counts. Clicking during WAIT is too early and must be repeated. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Choose a deliberate next step.

Watch out for this

Browser scheduling, screen refresh and input hardware can affect the measurement. It is not a medical test. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
