Learn your way around Spider Solitaire
Try Spider Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Read the objective before making your first input. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.
Two decks, one/two/four suits; fill every column before a ten-card stock deal. Free solo play, no wagering.
Bring this focus to a round
Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Notice the feedback after each input.
Your goal
Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. The example below illustrates a decision.
Work through the instructions
- Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
How to interact with the game
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.
An example to follow
A mixed-suit descending stack cannot move as one group. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Take a moment to compare.
Avoid this misunderstanding
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
